yeah so here's some progress on the sculptures, I made them into a collage so it would be easier to view, each pic is numbered and commented below;

1. two braches I found in the woods that will act as the tree they'll sit in. This will be used as a place where they can sit when they wont be in the tree at the exhibition.

2. skulls made of high-density styrofoam. will become heads soon enough. The eyes are marbles.

3. Armaure/skeleton in the making. styrofoam and stainless wire.

4. sitting in the branches. this will not be the final pose,. I'bve desided to flip the tree horisontally so they can sit better.

5. one of the gnomes. If you look at my erlier sketches, this will be the one holding a dead bird. filled out the joints (knees, shoulders, spine, etc. etc.) whit air drying clay. everything was fixated with a hot glue gun.

7. carnivore or herbivore? take a wild guess! xD The teeth were made out of kneadatite (two-part epoxy putty) very common in miniature model hobbies. also known as green stuff.

8 and 9. feets, from one of the gnome. the nails is made of green stuff,. and the self-curing clay has been carved into desired shape. since these little monsters is goning to live and climb in trees, I've gone with a brid-like approach on the feets, with long sharp talons,. raawwrr.

I'll make alteast one more progress post before they're done,. probably two.
